I started a blog, musical life, on November 21st, 2018. Tagged with the slogan “blog about trash”, I blogged about anything and everything regarding music, whether it be good or garbage.

The color palette was blue, teal, and purple; I thought it was a mellow, yet bubbly aesthetic, similar to the content itself.

I had three different logo variations dependent on the appropriate post.

In two weeks, the blog gained positive traction garnering 720 unique visitors a month and over an average of 1k reactions and interactions per post across all social media platforms.

The blog is currently inactive.

Official Website

Version 1

The first version of the blog’s layout is simple and clean, adapting the color palette seen in the logo to establish a familiar brand. It’s a responsive layout with a sticky head. The masonry post style is the main feature of the homepage. The header is a simple carousel slider with the first three latest posts. The [music] PLAY button on the right-hand side next to the social media button was created from HTML with jQuery capabilities.

Version 2

The second version maintained the simplicity and color palette as the previous layout. This post was more organized and easier to use. There were resolved issues from the previous version, as well as upgrades, such as an HTML player in the lower right that showed the playlist and allowed visitors to rewind, skip, and continuously play music while browsing other pages. I began advertising after the release of this layout.

Videos

I  developed weekly music updates and a short Christmas animation as an advertisement. I used Final Cut Pro and After Effects. I also produced a remix using samples of “Radar” and “Work” by pop singer, Britney Spears. I used Logic Pro.
